What is Box Strapping?
Box strapping — also known as bundling & banding — is the process of applying a strap (PP primarily) to an item used in industrial settings to combine, stabilize, hold, reinforce, and fasten it securely.
This keeps materials looking good, functioning properly, and reaching their final destination safely. It is used to secure freight loads during transit, unitize loose materials, and protect stacked pallets of cartons.
📦 Key uses include securing loads on flatbed trucks & railcars, palletizing products, bundling loose materials, and safeguarding packaged goods throughout the supply chain.
Types of Strapping Materials

PP Strap (Polypropylene)
An economical choice for light to medium duty unitizing, palletizing & bundling. Oriented/tensilized PP offers higher elongation at break but may exhibit irrecoverable dead stretch under constant stress. Ideal for carton sealing and general purpose bundling.
PET Strap (Polyester)
The strongest plastic strapping product — a viable alternative to steel strapping. PET offers excellent retained tension on rigid loads, superior recovery properties, and the ability to absorb impact without strap breakage. Perfect for heavy-duty industrial use.
PA / Nylon Strap
Nylon (PA 6, PA 66) strapping — oriented or tensilized — for applications requiring exceptional elasticity, chemical resistance, and performance at elevated temperatures. Used where PP and PET cannot meet demanding load requirements.

Is Manufactured
A precise, multi-stage extrusion and orientation process transforms raw polymer pellets into high-tenacity strapping tape ready for industrial use.
Raw Material + Masterbatch Mixing
PP base polymer is blended with Bajaj colour & additive masterbatches in precise ratios for consistent performance.
Extrusion
The homogeneous melt is fed into a single-screw extruder at controlled temperatures (200–260°C) to produce uniform continuous tape.
Water Bath Quenching
Freshly extruded tape passes through a water bath to rapidly cool and solidify the polymer structure before stretching.
Orientation / Tensilizing
The cooled tape is stretched (5–8× its original length) between heated rolls — aligning polymer chains to dramatically boost tensile strength.
Embossing & Annealing
Surface texture is embossed for grip enhancement. Annealing relieves internal stresses and stabilises dimensional properties.
Winding & Dispatch
Finished strap is precision-wound onto cores or reels at specified widths and lengths, ready for packaging and dispatch.
