Masterbatches for
Blow Moulded Water Tanks.
Strength that outlasts the sun- UV resistance, food-grade purity, and multi-layer colour engineering — built into every shot of resin.
Bajaj Plast Masterbatches for Blow Moulded Tanks are concentrated resin systems — precision blends of pigment, TiO₂ and functional additives — dosed into HDPE to give every water tank its colour, its opacity, and its decade-long resistance to sun, heat and microbial growth.
A heated shot,
engineered from the inside out.
In blow moulding of a water tank, production involves a heated hollow mould filled with a charge — or shot weight — of pulverised HDPE, compounded with additive and colour masterbatches dispersed uniformly through it.
The result: a rust-resistant, corrosion-free shell with a wall thickness that can be customised to the application, at a fraction of the tooling investment other processes demand.
Why Bajaj Plast Masterbatches.
Why Bajaj, at all.
Two questions, one answer — three decades of formulation discipline built specifically for the tank moulder's shop floor.
Why Blow Moulded Tanks need Bajaj Plast
- Tanks live outdoors — UV masterbatches resist's photo-degradation that would otherwise embrittle the shell within seasons.
- Water storage demands food-contact compliant TiO₂ and colour systems, not industrial-grade pigment.
- Multi-layer tank walls need masterbatches that disperse identically batch after batch, so inner and outer layers bond without defects.
- Anti-microbial and anti-oxidant additives extend the stored-water quality and the tank's structural life together.
Why moulders choose Bajaj Masterbatches
- Operating since 1989, an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer audited by TÜV Nord.
- Full-range supplier — white, black, colour and additive masterbatches from one formulation house.
- Consistent colour lot-to-lot, engineered for high-speed blow moulding lines without reformulation.
- Dedicated R&D and quality teams tuning dispersion and load rates specifically for HDPE tank resin.
Every layer, accounted for.
Key features of Bajaj Plast Masterbatches for Blow Moulded Tanks — engineered as a system, not a single additive.

High durability
Formulated to withstand years of outdoor exposure without cracking, chalking or fading.

High strength
Filler and additive dosing preserves the base resin's impact strength through the moulding cycle.

Double-wall construction
Supports 2–3 layer tank walls, each layer tuned for UV, colour or structural performance independently.

Consistent wall thickness
Even melt-flow dispersion keeps parison thickness uniform around the entire mould cavity.

Appearance
High-gloss, high-opacity TiO₂ systems deliver a premium, uniform surface finish out of the mould.
Weather Proof Solutions
Weatherproof protection that shields water tanks from UV rays, harsh weather and premature ageing for longer-lasting durability.
What the end product gains.
Benefits carried through to the finished tank when Bajaj Plast Masterbatches is part of the formulation.
Inside the wall of a water tank.
Premium blow moulded tanks are built as 5 distinct layers, each dosed with a different Bajaj Plast masterbatch — from the outer UV shield down to the food-contact inner wall. Scroll through each layer below to see it highlighted on the cross-section diagram.
Layer 1 — Outer UV & weather shield · White Masterbatch + PLAST UV + PPA
Faces direct sunlight, so it carries the heaviest TiO₂ and UV-stabiliser load in the wall. Slows photo-degradation and keeps the outer skin from chalking or embrittling over years outdoor, while improving melt flow for even dispersion between layers
Layer 2 — Optical brightening layer · Optical Brightener Masterbatch
Sits just beneath the UV shield to lift whiteness and gloss, giving the tank its premium, uniform surface finish straight out of the mould.
Layer 3 — Light-barrier core · Black Masterbatch
An opaque black band that blocks light from passing through the wall, cutting off the sunlight stored water would otherwise receive — the main defence against internal algae and moss growth.
Layer 4 — Stabilisation layer · Additive Masterbatch (Antioxidant + PCR)
Protects the resin from thermal and oxidative degradation during processing and over the tank's service life,A properly engineered recycled layer can help water-tank manufacturers achieve a better balance between performance, sustainability and cost efficiency.
Layer 5 — Inner food-contact wall · White Masterbatch (food-grade) + Anti-Microbial + Desiccant
The layer in direct contact with stored water. Food-grade white pigment plus anti-microbial and desiccant additives resist algae, biofilm and odour formation over years of use.

How Bajaj Plast Masterbatches enter the blow moulding process, step by step.
Formulation & dosing
White, colour, black and additive masterbatches are formulated to a precise let-down ratio for LLDPE/HDPE tank-grade resin, matched to the moulder's machine and cycle time.
Melting & parison extrusion
The dosed resin is melted and extruded into a hollow tube — the parison — with the masterbatch fully dispersed for uniform colour and opacity through the wall.
Mould closure & air inflation
The heated hollow parison is clamped inside the mould and inflated with compressed air, forcing the melt against the cavity walls to form the tank shell — single or multi-layer.
Cooling & solidification
The shell cools against the mould, locking in wall thickness, surface gloss and the UV/anti-microbial performance carried by the masterbatch system.
Demoulding & finishing
The tank is ejected as one solid piece — no welds, no joints, no weak spots — trimmed, and inspected for colour consistency and layer integrity before dispatch.
Low tooling cost. Near-zero size limit. Parts moulded as one solid piece — eliminating the welds and joints that create weak spots in every other process.
Engineering advantages of the process.
Low machine cost
Tooling investment is small versus other moulding processes, with high production flexibility and near-zero limit on product size.
Lower residual stress
Relatively low residual stress in manufacture keeps moulds inexpensive — most cost sits in machining, not in stress-relief tooling.
High durability, one piece
Parts are moulded as a single solid piece, eliminating welding and joint fabrication — and the weak spots they create.
High dimensional stability
The moulding material is never exposed to external pressure, reducing defect risk and improving finished-part stability.
UV protection
Polyethylene tanks are shielded from UV rays that would otherwise fade the surface and degrade the resin over time.
Minimum environmental impact
No hazardous chemicals released during moulding; the tanks are 100% recyclable, reducing carbon footprint per unit produced.
The complete masterbatch range
for one tank.
Four families of masterbatch, each solving a distinct requirement of the finished water tank.

White Masterbatch
Superior dispersion, opacity and gloss with food-packaging compliance. Adds heat resistance and UV protection to the shell.

Optical Brightener
Enhances whiteness and brightness of the outer layer for a premium, consistent finish straight out of the mould.

Additive Masterbatch
