BAJAJ PLAST
UV Stabilizer Additive Masterbatch

Bajaj Plast offers two major types of UV stabilizers to counteract the damaging effects of UV radiation: UV Absorbers (UVA) which slow down the degradation process by absorbing UV radiation and dissipating it as thermal energy; and UV Inhibitors (UVI) which are the most effective for polyolefins, available in a wide range of molecular weights and structures suitable for almost any application. They do not absorb UV radiation but instead they inhibit degradation of the polymer which has already formed free-radicals.
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun and other light sources, such as fluorescent lighting, are harmful to polymer properties. Finished plastic parts exposed to direct or indirect sunlight can exhibit surface chalking, Weathering as the polymer becomes oxidized and can lose physical properties, becoming brittle to the point of no longer being suitable for their original use. UV light also speeds up the fading of plastic colorants.

Preserving Your Plastics Products
The extent and rate of this degradation are influenced by various parameters, such as Sun light, climatic conditions, the thickness of the part, polymer type, or the presence of other additives.
Photo-degradation from UV radiation causes cracking, chalking, and the overall loss of physical properties such as impact strength, tensile strength, elongation, and other properties. Ampacet light stabilizers (UVI & UVA) protect polymers and their contents from sun and weather.
Shining a light on UV protection
The use of UV stabilizer additives can inhibit or absorb the harmful UV radiation that causes polymer degradation. There are two primary types of stabilizers used today: UV absorbers and Hindered Amine Light Stabilizers (HALS). It is important to know the specifics of the end-use environment, polymer base, and processing conditions to design the most effective UV stabilization package to meet the performance expectations.
Bajaj Plast UV masterbatches provide excellent UV protection for greenhouse films and low tunnels where pesticides are heavily used–up to 5000 ppm sulfur and 250 ppm chlorine. Plast UV masterbatch can help extend the service life of multi-season greenhouse films for 3 or more years.
