Temperature Setting

Temperature setting are crucial parameter for proper plastic processing ,hence one should check temperature controller, thermocouple and solid state relay(SSR)

  • when you cold  start the machine ,wait for 2hours.

Uneven film thickness

1. Improper die gap adjustment
2. Unstable extrusion temperature
3. Resin MFI variation

1. Adjust die gap for uniform clearance
2. Stabilize temperature profile across zones
3. Use resin with consistent melt flow index

Pinholes / gel formation in film
 

1. Resin contamination
2. Moisture in resin
3. Poor filtration

1. Use clean, dry resin
2. Pre-dry resin to remove moisture
3. Install finer screen changer/mesh filter

Poor tensile/tear strength of tarpaulin

1. Inadequate tape orientation
2. Improper cooling
3. Low-grade resin

1. Optimize draw ratio during tape stretching
2. Control cooling roll/chill roll temperature
3. Use high-strength PP/PE resin

Excessive shrinkage of tarpaulin

1. Improper heat-setting
2. High quench bath/roll temperature
3. Resin shrinkage property

1. Improve heat-setting during stretching
2. Reduce cooling bath/roll temperature
3. Select resin with lower shrinkage

Poor coating adhesion (in laminated tarpaulin)

1. Low extrusion temperature
2. Contamination on fabric
3. Improper nip roll pressure

1. Increase melt temperature for better bonding
2. Clean fabric surface before lamination
3. Adjust nip roll pressure for uniform bonding

Uneven surface/rough texture
 

1. Fluctuating extrusion speed
2. Improper chill roll temperature
3. Resin degradation

1. Stabilize extrusion speed
2. Optimize chill roll settings
3. Avoid overheating of resin

Low UV stability (tarpaulin cracks/fades outdoors)
 

1. Inadequate UV stabilizer dosage
2. Poor dispersion of additives
3. Low-quality resin

1. Use proper UV masterbatch at recommended dosage
2. Ensure uniform dispersion in resin
3. Use UV-stabilized resin grades

Wrinkling during winding

1. Improper tension control
2. Uneven cooling
3. Winder misalignment

1. Adjust line and winding tension
2. Ensure uniform cooling across width
3. Align winding rolls properly
