Cast Film Extrusion
Cast Film Extrusion
Film Application
Cast Film
Cast films are thin, flat sheets of plastic material produced through a specific extrusion process. In this method, molten polymer is extruded through a flat die (also known as a slot die) to form a continuous, uniform film. The molten film is then rapidly cooled on a metal casting roll, resulting in a high-quality, glossy sheet with consistent thickness.
Key Steps in Cast Film Extrusion:
- Melt Extrusion: Polymers are melted through a slot or flat die (extruded) to form a thin molten film.
- Die System: The molten polymer travels through a flat die system to adopt its final flat film shape. The die system includes the die itself and, if required, a feedblock for coextrusion or simply the die for mono-layer extrusion.
- Cooling: The molten film is rapidly cooled on a metal casting roll, which solidifies it into a continuous sheet.
- Takeoff and Windup: The film is then pulled away from the casting roll and wound onto a roll for further processing or use.

Cast Film In PP & PE

PP Base Cast Film (CPP)
PP-based cast film refers to thin, flat sheets of plastic material produced through a specific extrusion process using polypropylene (PP) as the primary polymer.

PE Base Cast Film(CPE)
PE-based cast film refers to thin, flat sheets of plastic material produced through a specific extrusion process using polyethylene (PE) as the primary polymer.
