Problem

Temperature Setting

Temperature setting are crucial parameter for proper plastic processing ,hence one should check temperature controller, thermocouple and solid state relay(SSR)

  • when you cold  start the machine ,wait for 2hours.

Curling

  1. High tension on any one of the substrate
  2. High tunnel tension
  1. Maintain proper tension on both the substrates
  2. Maintain proper tunnel tension

Tunneling

  1. Second ply tension is more
  2. Tension mismatch between both the piles, Improper nip pressure and nip temperature
  3. Poly GSM variation
  1. Maintain proper tension on the both the substrate
  2. Maintain proper nip temperature and nip pressure
  3. Check poly GSM properly before starting the jo

Air bubbles

  1. Adhesive is not wetting the substrate properly
  2. Improper nip pressure and nip temperature
  3. Improper rubber roller pressure or rubber roller is damaged
  4. Solvent evaporation is not good
  1.  Maintain the adhesive viscosity properly
  2. Set proper nip temperature and nip pressure
  3. Set proper rubber roller pressure. Check the condition of rubber roller before starting the job
  4. Set proper tunnel temperature

Delamination

  1. Mixing ratio of the adhesive and the hardner is not proper
  2. Corona treatment to the substrate is not proper
  3. Less nip pressure and rubber roller pressure
  4. Less curing
  1. Set mixing ratio of the adhesive and the hardner properly
  2. Check the corona treatment given to substrate before starting the job
  3. Set proper nip pressure and rubber roller pressure
  4. Give proper curing to the laminate

Telescopic winding

  1. Dancing roller is not functioning properly
  2. Core bend is not located properly
  1.  Ensure the proper functioning of the dancing roller
  2. Locate the core bend properly

Wrinkles

  1. Dancing roller is not functioning properly
  2. Core bend is not located properly
  1. Ensure the proper functioning of the dancing roller

Shrinkage

High tunnel temperature

Set proper temperature in the tunnel

Odour

Solvent retention in the laminate

Set proper temperature in the hood to evaporate the solvents

Patches

  1.  Coating cylinder condition is not good
  2. Sufficient air pressure and rubber roller pressure is not maintained
  1. Check the condition of the coating cylinder before starting the job
  2. Maintain the sufficient air pressure and rubber roller pressure
